This Privacy Policy explains how Squire (squire.news), operated by Bailey Meyers, a sole proprietor (“Squire,” “we,” or “us”), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service. It covers both account holders and the recipients to whom briefs are delivered.
We use this information to operate the Service: generating and delivering briefs, managing your subscription, providing support, monitoring reliability, and improving the product. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
We rely on a small set of service providers to run Squire. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

Brief emails are delivered through Brevo, which records opens (via a tracking pixel) and link clicks (via rewritten tracking links). We use this engagement data to show you delivery metrics and to keep the sending system healthy.
Account and configuration data is retained while your account is active and deleted upon account deletion. Cached news articles and brief generation history are pruned on a rolling basis as part of normal operation. Unsubscribe (suppression) records are retained so that opt-outs remain honored.
Every brief email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing adds the address to a suppression list that is checked before every send, so a suppressed recipient will not receive further briefs even if re-added. Recipients may also contact us directly at bailey@squire.news to have their data removed.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Our database enforces row-level security so each account can access only its own data, and administrative access follows least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the data we hold.
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email bailey@squire.news. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
